The day had gone by so quickly that it was surreal but then again lately all the days had been like that. One second the sun would be rising, raring to begin it's journey across the sky and then the next it would be falling. Sometimes Aneira would stare across the beaks and imagine the sun piercing itself on the peaks flooding the sky with red. Although she knew that this wasn't the case the thought of a new sun every day appealed to her. It was like there was an invisible queue of suns and when a new sun rose it was as if it was their time to shine. It didn't matter to her that they died when the day was gone because in her mind they would be satisfied since they had fulfilled their purpose.
As the last specks of light disappeared behind the vast mountains, Aneira stretched her mottled brown wings and lifted into the sky. It seemed quite extreme to travel all the way to the borders just to see the sunset but it was a trip that Ani made specially at least once a fortnight since it almost had a calming effect on her. And it wasn't just the sunset. The trip over Cedargrove was just as enjoyable thanks to the new spring buds which were refreshing after the long winter of bare branches. It was a shame these stunning sights could not be enjoyed for too long though since it would be getting dark soon and the beauty of Cedargrove would be masked by night's cloak. At least the stars would accompany her on her trip back to the center of Ithila.
Seeing no need to hurry, Aneira alighted on a withered tree which was known for being taller than most in Cedargrove. Unfortunately it was close to death but it still provided long branches which did not obscure the night sky. Gazing up, she smiled and began to draw pictures in the sky unaware that her eyes were like bright, white beacons to any who would fly above.
