Name: Kamikaze is his real name; he was born with it. Alas, it deems too long for him, so see “nickname”.
Nickname: Kaze. Short, sweet, there you go. (:
Species: Black Eagle.
Gender: Testosterone; male.
Seasons: Just turned 4 years old this Spring.
Flock: Anore.
Element: Fire is his element.
Promotion contest 2nd place: Either “fire” or “metal”, I am still debating.
Rank: Leader, maybe?
Physical Description: Click on the X's please. =) Thank you. [ X ] - [ X ] - [ X ] - [ X ]
His appearance is what you would expect from a Black Eagle. Same color, same shape, same size, same finesse and style… But attitude on the other hand, eh-heh heh. Wrong. His personality also makes certain aspects of his body more appealing and more visible, I might add. From his quick tilted head, much like a dog whence they hear an eerie sound; brightens up his eyes and makes you focus on their majestic hazel oceans, and that beak-- Ever does it look more threatening and more sharpened as well.
At first look, his eyes appear to be a crimson hue, wrapped and twisted around a slight blue; but a closer look to those eyes, and you will see they are deep blue; a shade of color not common for a fire bird, but as they say, blue was a hot colored flame. Like almost all of the Black Eagle adults, Kaze too, has developed that yellow bill base, or cere in other words, and his clawed feet as well. He is a young adult in age; a little over two years really, but who pays attention on weeks, anyways? Young Black Eagles of his species have a buffed up head; fluffed up with feathers of white galore. See any on his head? Nay. He is fully on his way to become an adult; and a powerful one at that.
Eagles like him are usually big creatures; mammals; birds of prey in general, and alas, that is what Kaze is. The usual length of a Black Eagle ranges from around 70 to 80 cm in length. Kaze is currently 78 m in length. All that flight practicing and healthy eating habits made him grow normally and healthy. Those dark hued ebony wings of his are pinched at the ends, like all other Black Eagles have. That in itself gives his species a more distinctive shape and form; allowing him to fly gracefully and hazardous-- With those haste zips and sharp turns.
Kaze has a long black tail that shows a slight white color; a faint barring at the mid points and at the ends. Lifting his chest high and spreading those long wings of his and takes flight up to the sky, you would see with clear eyes that his body created a “V” related shape. Finally, the end of our tail resides in the talons of Kaze. Sharp, and a deep gray they were; deadly and merciless when it came to other smaller birds and eggs; the normal food for this bird of prey; this Kaze. Like the leaders before him, over time, his eyes changed, and fire grew. Those crimson colored eyes started to change colors, into more of a blue; the hottest flame color. Why would it be red? Reds cool compared to blue fire.
Personality: I guess you can say Kaze is “complicated”. Sometimes, he is more caring than others; you know, like other birds—just depends what happened that day, and what dreams he has had. Because of his past, there may be ups and downs with his mood—but overall, Kaze is a good character, unless you aggravate him; then he can be a little arse hole. xD
He is one word; Ill-tempered. Mess with him and he will cuss you out so bad, not to mention his little anger problem, but really deep inside he is misunderstood and really is a great cool feathery bundle, if given a second chance, which, with all the cussing and bad-mouthing he does, that second chance is more further away than ever! Bad to the bone, rude, grumpy, but not evil. He is more like a bully or a twisted child; that including his wimpy insults.
He believes that females are not to be harmed or mistreated, just after what he did to his mother [not be strong enough to save her], who wouldn't be for that. To males, he can hardly give a hoot. He'd pick a fight and do something illogical and wrong on purpose. Very stubborn and persistent he is, and sometimes he gets so grumpy, he isolates himself with folded wings and mumbles under his breath. Usually the bad guy that starts and finishes crap, but yet, if you talk to him, despite his rude remarks or sly behavior, he is really a great bird that will, just jump in front of a fox for you. Truth be told, be nice to him, he'll be nice back. Deep inside, he is just a hurt little puppy that wants a master to shelter him form the storm...
Under that stubborn attitude and personality, is a little dare devil! Sure, he will slap the Leader of the flock himself, and then call the Leader his butch. Call his courageous or stupid, but he is a brave buffoon to point the fact that he does not care at all. Defiantly a dare-devil and always will be one too.
Kaze is what people would call… A DOG; or a PUPPY kind of… Bird. A new puppy that you just adopted from the Animal Shelter. Being new to you, he would be aggressive to some extent and sly. After some time of letting the dog know you and you know the dog, he would loosen up that aggressive tone and show that puppy inside; that more sweet side. That is, if this dog gets a second chance before he gets put to sleep. x3 Yay for symbolic meanings! x3
In other words, lets categorize his personality in Common and Rare, to make it ore easy on your young eyes. x3
» Tempered;; Yes, Kaze is tempered, or as some might say snappy, easily angered, or "Ill-tempered". Either way they are the same dang thing; which equals Kaze. He has a mouth and a temper if things aren't the way he wishes them to be. Kind of like a brat. Guess you can say the past really held an impact to Kaze's present and future. He gets angry a little too easily, and often shows it via facial expressions and or gestures. On occasion though, does he actually claw and start a fight; that must mean you have to anger him up really good.
» Rude;; He has a mouth and really, I do not think he will ever lose that mouth, let alone his rude behavior. Yup, he WILL back-talk to you almost all the time and probably make rude and or offensive gestures; though he would probably be joking. Rude comes in many forms. Another one is bothering other birds of a lesser stats then him. Yup, he would poke you, stare at you for long periods of time [meaning he likes you or wants you to get mad], and follow you. Basically, he is a rude joker that never quits, unless you are a person he knows or is comfortable with.
» (Over)-Protective;; Once you start to know Kaze, he will get attached to you; quickly or slowly, it all depends. Anyways, if someone says something rude or anything negative to you, Kaze would be the one to step in and scream at them, protecting you and making himself be an ass. Sure, he gets his nose into problems that does not concern him, but he does that out of friendship more or less. Like that guard dog, so nice on the outside, but attacks on the out if a stranger enters the home.
» Sweet;; Sweet?! This dang buffoon!? Yup, he is a little sweet heart to someone he likes and or loves. He would do small little things to give you signs that he likes you. Maybe take you to the evergreen tree that has the best view, walk with you, hunt for you, nudge you, nip you. He will do that, just takes a little time though.
» Loving;; Just like the over-protective and sweet category, he'd do anything to make you happy. Once you get in Kaze's little affectionate circle, he is just like a dog on a leash; obedient and loyal. He would want to stay around you, like a small child and a mother in a large mall. His aggressive behavior would almost extinguish and that puppy with a wagging tail would be there. If you are crying, he would most likely give you a hug or stay by your side; wishing you were better and trying to help.
» Fatherly;; Sure, he doesn’t have a chick to call his own (wants one despite his “eww, chicks?” thing going on), and to teach the way of Fireflock, but under that almost ‘childish’ demeanor, is a fatherly figure. He may make a face at the young once, but then, he’ll see himself in them—trying to thrive and soar above all the rest—like he did, and is still trying. He wants to be better than the other “Kaze”’s, thus, shall try his best. When life has you down, Kaze will try to bring it up—even at first it doesn’t seem like it.
» Understanding;; Sure, he has his quirks and is so persistent and stubborn, he may see child-like, but inside, he understands. Kaze had a hard life, and he’s learned that other birds, could have it like him, or far worse. Outside he might not seem to care, but later, you’ll know—you’ll see his understanding. Might not be right away, but he’ll understand what you’re going through, and with being protective of everyone in his flock, he’ll try to help when he is less busy and has the time. Everyone is important.
» Rational;; This goes along with being somewhat ‘blunt’, but Kaze is somewhat of a rational thinker. He thinks of both sides of the story, even though on the outside he seems somewhat only for one bird and not the other. He knows it’s difficult sometimes, but sometimes you just have to say it ad be blunt and rational about it, you know? Sometimes being nice won’t cut it. Don’t sugar coat the truth, just tell it how it is.
» Blunt;; Kaze is not afraid to say whatever is on his mind! Wither it is perverted, logical, or if he happens to be stereotypical at the moment, he will say it. what about the consequences? Oh, he won’t think about that, for after all; words never hurt anyone, right?
» Persistent/Stubborn;; Even if he was deemed an annoying feather bundle, Kaze will keep on pestering you. Guess you could say he is very, VERY stubborn. Giving up is something he won’t ever do, unless she knows he will lose; but even then he tried to succeed. Even with others, he will keep on nagging and keep on being persistent until they do what he wanted to what they are supposed to do. Even if it is a lesson, even telling them not go trespass there; he will keep on bothering them until they get it through their thick skulls.
I was going to add more, but he has enough. =x
History: The sky was a vibrant red, orange, and yellow; all those colors intertwined into a beautiful scene. The sky was almost his home, if he could just fly right. This little chick, well, juvenile was a flyer, just not any good. He flew but could not control himself for the wind was a problem. Ever did it change direction. Once, he crashed into the ground, the other time a tree… Little Kaze still stared at the beautiful sky, hoping once to be part of it and spread his wings proudly.
Yes, yes, little Kaze. See that buffed head of his? That young small size in appearance? Yes, he was rather young, but he was already flying, though poorly I might add. His father was out for the day, as he spread his wings and flew far away; searching for food for himself as usual. His other sibling, since Black Eagles lay about two eggs, was in the nest where his mother was; still awaiting Kaze’s return form the outer areas of the land.
Finally spreading his wings up high, he took off into the sky; proud as can be. Thinking it would be good to practice some twirls and sharp zips, he tried before heading home. That carelessness and crummy show he put attracted a much larger bird of prey. Some sort of other much more bigger and more dominate eagle sprouted form the underbrush and headed towards Kaze.
With a loud eerie dominate screech, Kaze looked back, only to see a huge grey-hued eagle-like bird follow him. With a little craw of his own, Kaze soon flapped his wings harder and harder, trying to out-fly this predator. He didn’t. the bigger bird of prey grabbed him but it’s grip was not a stronghold and Kaze slipped out, landing in the trees below. Oh, did Kaze keep silent. Very silent. Minutes passed, even hours, and Kaze stayed still; in the same spot hoping and wishing that the bird left.
Kaze was very patient at this age. He kind of had to be. Thinking that the coast was clear, he hoped to a few branches, opened his wings and took flight once more. This time, he avoided practice and kept both of his eyes open and observant to his surroundings. Yes, not more practice; he needed to keep a keen eye out for that evil eagle.
Then a craw for help filled his ears. Sounded like his mother. Eyes widened and then assuming the worse, Kaze flapped his wings faster and faster until those brown eyes of his saw this monstrosity. Those wings of his seemed to stop their flaps at the site. What had happened was that the larger bird of prey that chased him, found the dead tree that they lived in and oh… His mother was not moving.
Anger rose in the juvenile and soon he flew at the large bird, wanting to rip its eyes out, but the bird saw Kaze coming. Raising it’s blood head it gave out a loud cry before lifting itself up and headed toward Kaze. In his mind, Kaze thought he was going to die. Just look at the size difference between him and this gigantic bird.
The bird outstretched its claws at Kaze, ready to grab him just like before, but another loud call came from the side, and with that a fast moving black streak flew into the larger bird. It was Kaze’s father! He was back! Flying to the next in the tree, Kaze landed and nudged his mother, but she wouldn’t move. Where was his brother too? He looked around, but saw nothing. Then hearing a few more screeches, Kaze hoped to the edge of the next and glanced down. His father and the bird were fighting, and that silky black feathered area was not good grooming, it was blood.
“Kaze, go! Fly away!” Was his fathers cry before he started pecking at the other bird. Go? Go?! Where? Why? Those brown eyes of his started to fill up with tears and he stubbornness made him stay… Well, until he heard his fathers cry, then he rose up to the air and flew away. Behind Kaze were little twinkling dots, falling to the ground. Tears? Yes, the first time he cried… And first time ever being scared…
Days went by, and Kaze was taking this hard. Too hard. His personality molded into a more mean one, but still remained that caring side of him deep inside; not wanting to show it to anyone, for he was afraid that if he did, he will cry once again. His mother was dead, he assumed she was. His father? He assumed he was dead too, after all, the bird was twice his size. His brother? He couldn’t find him, but guessed he was still alive somewhere…
There were only a few options left for Kaze to do. He wished to become a leader; to protect a flock just like his father; but he won’t die. No, he refused to even think of death as an outcome. Hard-headed, but yet kind, what will he do? Where would he go? It was up to him. He was an adult, and now he needed to make his name known.
OOC Name: Kaze. -----------------
Below is the post for the audition. I just put it here in case. xD It’s somewhat the same on the old EC, just added some things about Anore and changed it around a lot; since Kaze is powerless. xD -----------------
As time passed, little Kaze matured more and more. His chest was more defined, feathers more silky smooth (signifying he was healthy), and those eyes of his were changing colors. Those talons of his were always sharp and defined, so was his beak; every second of his life, he was ready to prove himself to the world; to show everyone that he wasn’t a chick anymore, that he was by far, much more than that.
Silence fell upon him for a while, keeping his family’s death a secret. How could a great father; a strong eagle like that die in such a way? But see here, Kaze was here to make it up. Anore may not have a leader and have some scourge of a replacement, but Kaze was going to take this leader position, not this other bird! After a year or so increasing in strength and endurance, even more so swiftness and finesse with style to avoid attacks from either end and to take the least bit of damage, Kaze was ready for this; ready for fight for his rightful throne.
The elder birds told him, that this ‘unrightfully’ leader was going to be hard to beat, and they advised him not to fight. Being a ‘Warrior” was good enough — The elder birds didn’t want to lose such a dedicated and strong warrior over a cheating eagle. He was strong alright, and bigger than Kaze — Let alone he didn’t fight fair either. But Kaze, on the other hand, was sick and tired of seeing other birds being treated like crap. Sure, Kaze wasn’t exactly the ‘nicest’ bird there (he had some anger problems because of his past), but he was determined to make this eagle drop down a rank or at least be a prisoner. Death… Was too greater a punishment. All Kaze wanted was to be a Leader to the people of Anore, almost like his father was. He wanted a flock with a bird that he knew would lead them well —Yyes, there goes his ego; like his father!
He was sick and tired of everyone being treated lesser than what they were — Himself included, here! Because of his stubbornness, Kaze threatened the leader with mocking calls — Whence that happened, the so called Leader of Anore accepted his ‘fight’ request. The elders then… Changed their mind. They told Kaze to ‘kill’ that eagle, for all the wrong he has done, for all the mistreatment that he has committed with other birds. Kaze, said nothing. Inside, he knew what he was going to do. This was a fight for the throne, not for death. Today would change. Kaze would win — He was determined to win! This was going to be his flock, his birds, his life! He will to everything in his power to take it all.
Training a little bit more, Kaze tested his ability to turn sharply and to jolt downwards; for he assumed he’d need it this day. Practicing to make sure you were good to go, couldn’t hurt you, right? It was better than being lazy and too full of himself, then get his feathery butt defeated. That would be embarrassing or far worse; deadly. Even though Kaze had no means to kill, the other eagle probably did. After all, Kaze did call him an “egg breaker” about fifteen times.
Ending his practice prematurely, he rose those wings and took flight; heading towards the battlegrounds that marked where his opponent shall be. Arriving at the scene, with the leaders’ trusties, per se, Kaze landed by the elders on the side. They wished him luck, and may there only be one survivor. Kaze didn’t like their attitude… They used to be more rational, not greedy and envious like this. They were somewhat reflecting himself. But Kaze knew better. Nodding and replying a thanks, he turned his head he approached his rival; black talons slowly coming forth with each and every step.
Both eagles stood before another; of course, Kaze was the smaller one, compared to this huge feather-brain before him. Saying a few words and bowing their heads, immediately the battle began without the slightest hesitation, just like any bird in Anore would do. They were warriors; it was fight or die; no time to talk your way out of this one. At first, it started on the ground; the leader made a mock charge and snapped his beak at Kaze; causing the black eagle to jump back and craw in frustration. Raising his wings, he swooped them downwards, hastily a few times; picking up dirt, before he charged forward. This was no mock charge; this was full throttle.
As the leader was distracted because of the dust being picked up before him, and irritating his eyes, he shook his head, and Kaze attacked; jumping in the air, and with his talons, grabbing the leaders back. The talons dug somewhat into the skin to make him bleed, but the bigger eagle shook him off and cawed in anger. Oh, now this was personal. As if snooping down to Kaze’s level, the leader called him an “egg breaker” right back, and that only got Kaze to tilt his head smugly.
Retracting his talons and landing on the ground, Kaze backed up and lowered his head; the feathers on his back and neck started to rise in frustration; and also naturally to make himself seem bigger to the other eagle — Though that was a tactic that wasn’t going to work much here. The leader raised his wings, cawed loudly, and did the same tactic Kaze did with the dust, back to him. This time, however, instead of doing what Kaze did, the leader bent his legs, rose his wings, and thrust his wings down and took flight into the air. This fight was for leader; they should die in flight for they are birds — Not mammals.
Shaking his head and ridding the dust, Kaze screeched and snapped his head up to see the leader overhead. Eyes dimmed down, and his beak grinned slightly out of frustration. Raising his wings, Kaze as well too flight, and headed straight towards the leader. At first, he was using his energy at his full potential. But being the rational thinker he was… Dimmed down some. Yeah, not really Anorean with the thinking, but Kaze wanted to win; sue him for planning ahead. He had to conserve his energy! Else, how would he win? Kaze was not going to deliver a “coup de gra”, but some other finishing move, just to wound him greatly, and imprison him with the other Anorean criminals, per se. If Kaze didn’t have energy, how would he do that, and win?
Finally within close range of the leader, Kaze cawed, and like some game of tag, the leader bolted on off, with Kaze on his tail. Oh, this would be a perfect opportunity for him to use fire magic — But Kaze didn’t have any magic. Gosh, one day, he will get magic alright, and be able to defend these lands much faster, and without any causalities that he assumed he will have soon. No battle was free of pain.
The elders that were staying on the sidelines and watching the fight, sighed as the two birds flew somewhere else—out of view. Looking towards the leaders trusties, they all then followed right behind them—just in case the fight took place somewhere else. They needed to make sure there was a winner. That was the leader’s tactic. This bird didn’t play fair — He did whatever in his power to win, thus, had no honor — So flew out of view with his challenger so he could win easier. Flying straight into the darkened forest, the leader made a sharp turn, and dug his talons into the tree — Awaiting Kaze to fly by so he could snatch him and rip him to shreds.
The forest was his specialty. Sure, there weren’t many leaves, but all the branches made the place dark. And like a fish to a worm, Kaze swooped down and flew into the forest — Flying right past the leader. With a snicker, the leader pushed off of the tree and flew down at incredible speed — Talons outstretched and aiming for Kaze. Finally hearing the leader ‘behind’ him, Kaze thought fast. Turning and heading directly towards a tree, Kaze did a little trick. He was practicing this before the fight to expert in it more — And now he would put it to the test. Raising a wing and dipping it to the side, he hastily swooped down and back up — Like a ‘U’-turn in mid-air. The leader was unaware of this so hastily flapped his wings so he wouldn’t hit the tree…
As the leader flapped his wings repeatedly and slowed down just enough as to not hit the tree, Kaze did that ‘U’-turn in flight and came from behind him. Talons outstretched, Kaze’s claws grabbed onto the leader, and clenching his talons tightly, he used all his strength right now to bring that bird down! Even though he was smaller than the leader — Kaze was determined! As they said; big things come in small packages!
After some struggle in the air, both birds fell to the ground; dust lifting itself up from the ground in a small cloud. Now, the struggle for dominance began. Talons grabbed and ripped; beaks bit and snipped and pulled. Wings flapped and bodies squirmed in pain. As the dust died down and a craw-whimper escaped, Kaze slammed his talon on the leaders face; shoving the side of his face into the ground. Both birds were injured, but since Kaze trained himself and held more determination, he came out on top. Biting the birds’ wings, he made sure that he wouldn’t fly away well; but he was alive, just severely injured.
The elders and the leader’s trusties came to the scene and took their spots on branches and some on the ground. Finish him, one of the elders called. Then you’ll become leader! Kaze, shook his head, dug the leaders face I the ground again, before getting off of him. Kaze said that no bird deserves the death treatment. Birds get only one life, not nine like cats. Every life counts. He’ll just be imprisoned, so that he learns that he was wrong, and maybe he could change his ways and help Anore in the way that it was supposed to!
Panting, and covered in blood, Kaze still stood strong; or tried to on the outside for the Anorean birds. Inside, he was about to collapse. Never before had he been so seriously injured like this, even in training with other bird, since he was a warrior for the flock, a dedicated one until now. Parts of his feathers were covered in blood; made his black feathers look even blacker with that glimmering red hue. The part by his neck; some pale skin was seen as the leader plucked a good chunk of feathers off.
The elders were about to ask again, for Kaze to finish this bird, but they knew that he had spoken — And he was right. Lives weren’t made for wasting. One elder, lowered his head, an silently spoke: Hail Kaze, m’lord of Anore. Another head lowered, then another and another. Even the old leader’s trusties lowered their heads and bowed to their new leader. One elder didn’t bow his head yet. Instead, he approached Kaze. I raised you well — Your father would be so proud of you, the elder spoke before nudging his beak with Kaze’s, before lowering it as well, in a bow. Kaze won the fight; he took back the flock under his wing.
The former leader was carried off and imprisoned in Anore’s lands, and Kaze was helped in the recovering process. Not long, he fully healed, and approached one of the largest trees in all of the land, and walked to the top; spreading his wings and showing his whole form. His chest was held out and his head held high and proud; the new leader of the Anore flock. Wings still spread out as the breeze swept across the Mirefield. This was his home. These were his birds in his flock. This was his calling. With him as leader, Anore shall topple over Ithila in more ways than one!
